Solmaz

Bespoke timber joinery and fitted cabinetry made by Solmaz

Made to measure, built in our workshop

Solmaz makes bespoke joinery for homes and commercial spaces across London, from a single alcove unit to a full run of rooms. Each piece is designed around the space it will live in, drawn in detail, made in our workshop and fitted by our own team. Because the same people design, build and install, the finished joinery sits flush, opens smoothly and matches the rest of the room.

Off-the-shelf units rarely suit an older or awkward room. Fitted furniture made to measure uses every inch, works with sloping ceilings and uneven walls, and can be finished to match existing woodwork or a brand new scheme. We make wardrobes, bookcases, media walls, window seats, panelling and staircases, choosing materials and ironmongery that will still look and work well years later.

Why joinery is better made than bought

A piece made in a joinery workshop is worth more than a flat-pack equivalent because it is built for one place and one use. We agree the design and a fixed price before any timber is cut, keep you updated as the piece takes shape, and protect your home or premises during fitting. Everything that leaves our joinery workshop is checked before it goes out, so installation is quick and the result is one you will be glad to show off.

Drawn to your space

Every piece is measured and drawn for the exact space, so it fits the room rather than forcing the room to fit it.

Timber chosen to last

We select hardwoods, veneers and boards to suit the use and the setting, from painted MDF to solid oak.

Crafted in our workshop

Cutting, assembly and finishing happen under our own roof, which keeps the quality and the detail in our hands.

Fitted properly on site

Our fitters install and adjust each piece on site, scribing to walls and floors so the finish looks built-in.

What to know before ordering joinery

Do you design the piece or do I need drawings?

We design it. After a site measure we prepare drawings and, where it helps, sketches or samples, so you can see the bespoke joinery before we build it.

Yes. We match profiles, timber and finishes to existing joinery, or work to a new design, so a piece either blends in or stands out, whichever you want.

From painted MDF and veneered boards to solid oak, walnut and ash, with sprayed, oiled or lacquered finishes. We advise on what suits the use and the budget.

For awkward spaces, usually yes. Fitted furniture uses every inch, copes with uneven walls and old floors, and lasts far longer than flat-pack, so it earns its place over time.

Small pieces can be a couple of weeks from approval, with larger runs taking longer, as everything is made to order. We give a lead time with the quote.

We do. Our own fitters install and adjust each piece, scribing to walls and floors, so you deal with one team from measure to finish.
