Konstam at the Prince Albert opened in April 2006 and was the central feature of BBC Two’s ten-part series The Urban Chef. Solmaz fitted out the ground floor with an open kitchen and seating for 45 diners, and built a second staircase to provide an additional entry and escape from the basement. The basement was fitted out with seating for a further 24 diners, a prep kitchen, WCs, a manager’s office and food storage, while the existing Victorian pub facade needed only minor refurbishment.
