Solmaz carries out residential construction and refurbishment work across London, from new builds and extensions to full property refurbishments and rental turnarounds. Whether it’s a single kitchen, a whole flat between tenancies or a house built from the ground up, every job is led by an experienced site manager who owns the programme, the budget and the paperwork, so there is always one person who knows exactly where things stand. We work to the current building regulations, keep records in order for building control, and hand back a property that is finished, tested and ready to use.
Most of our trades sit within the business rather than being sub-let to whoever is free that week. Bricklayers, carpenters, electricians and finishers work as one team, which keeps standards even and makes it easy to see who is responsible for what. Because older buildings often hide their problems until they’re opened up, we survey first, agree a scope and a price, and flag the likely unknowns before they become arguments. Working in the capital also means we plan around tight access, parking restrictions and neighbours, so the job runs without unnecessary friction.
How a Solmaz site is run
Every piece of building work carries risk around cost, time and quality, and most of that risk is settled before anyone lifts a tool. We price the job in detail and in writing, agree the scope clearly, and set out a realistic programme so you know what happens and when. Most of our work happens in homes people still live in, so we seal off work areas, keep dust and noise down, and leave kitchens and bathrooms usable for as long as we can. During the build you deal with one point of contact, not a rotating cast, and any change to the work is confirmed in writing before it goes ahead rather than appearing as a surprise at the end.
